I can't sleep all night.. cmon atleast give us few options.
My take on the permanent solution:
1. Recapture lost visa numbers
It will need change in law. Cannot be done without senate and congress approval
2. Medical tests are going to be valid indefinitely
Possibily but cannot be a big news, especially if we are talking about near term good news
3. Ppl who've worked for X years automatically can apply for I-485

When did you file I-140 at TX? RFE could be for documents about ability to pay.

Don't we have a popular Beedi( a type of cigarette ) in India with the image of Lord Ganesh on its cover . It is very very popular beedi brand in Karnataka . Is this allowed , I never saw any backlash against this in India itself . Strange that this kind of backlash happens more in the west than India.

I guess both options are good but I would suggest option 1. Btw you should kick you lawyer's a** so hard so that he would not make this mistake again in his life. Sorry for my language. Why do these lawyers screw up our lives? I have had enough with these so called idiots who cannot do a simple job without making any mistakes. My lawyer screwed up my life with just a single mistake and I have been suffering for the past 5 years now, otherwise I would have got my GC in 2005.
Anyways, dont worry you should be just fine. Please contact Murthy or some other good laywers to work on your RFE and do not go with your current lawyer please.

I have filed 485/EAD/AP in Aug'07 and changed the address online using AR11 followed by the petitions for 485/EAD/AP for my self and the dependant.
Got confirmation in mail for all the pending petitions after 2 weeks. I have NOT called the USCIS office for the address change.

A lot folks want to use AC21 but lawyers suggest not actually filing AC21.
So if I take the AC21 approach, but not file AC21 itself (I know this sounds a bit off kilter) wouldn't I be just fine (assuming of course job profiles from Company A & B are a comparable)?
I believe this is the tack Company B lawyer is suggesting.
Here's something I read on another lawyers website w.r.t. AC21:
1. Since GC is for future job you can use AC21 with a new employer if job profile is same. You do not ever, in past/present or future, have to work for the sponsor company.
2. AC21 notification to USCIS is not a MUST requirement. There is an 'expectation' that USCIS will be informed.

Thanks, I actually called NSC and talked to the customer service (CSR) and she told me that it is USCIS policy to not give any duplicate/copy of this approval/card for something which has been sent but not returned ? How can i speak to the IO officer...can i ask her to transfer me to an IO officer? whom should i ask to open the service request (SR) with?

Question: My Company applied RIR EB3 labor for me in June 2004. It is stuck in backlog at PBEC. Meanwhile my company also filed new EB2 PERM (Without using old priority date) in March2006. This got approved and I-140 has been filed for it. Is it possible for me to use the priority date of June 2004 for EB2 case? Assuming the backlog labor gets approved.

DMT: I couldn't agree more, magazines write differences up or down to make a point - and of course none of us would actually read a magazine where they tested three competing models of DSLR's and the article said "They are all good, just buy any and you'll be happy" - we want them to say that one of them is the best and that the others are ranging from so-so to absolute rubbish [althouhg I probably couldn't tell the difference]. The journalist working for a magazine MAY not want to upset the biggest advertiser. Further, they need to get "Free test samples". In a motorcycle magazine, one model of Triumph was written down quite badly. Triumph wrote to the publisher and said essentially "If you don't write better about the next bike we lend to you, we will not give you bikes for tests in the future".
Back to the subject, however: It's important to know what YOU are looking for in a camera. What sort of photos/occasions are you intending to photograph: sports, nature, family & friends, outdoors, indoors, close-up or far away, etc, etc?

I was not aware that EB3 were getting over regular allotment....but porting is the only way i see people getting the GC in a reasonable time-frame if you are stuck in EB3 queue :cool:
An analogy would be to compare porting to the HOV traffic lane. If you qualify, do port and you would get to your destination faster. It is perfectly legal too and no one should be complaining about people porting if they qualify for it.

Application Type: I140, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status: Case Transfered to Another Office for Processing
On May 12, 2009, we transferred this case I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow the instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to update your address. You can use our processing dates to estimate when your case may be processed by following the link below. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case by registering in the link below.
Any idea, what would be the possible reason for this? Please advice.

I remember getting a similar email for H1B some 2-3 years back even though my H1 was approved and I already received the I797. No issues though, they just sent another I797. :)
I guess this can happen if their Database was restored to an older backup. So they had to go thru some of the processing again.

sorry i forgot to say the date... The approval was on April 27th, and today May 05th I haven't got either the letter or the card.
Do they come together or there is something wrong for the fact not even my approval letter have came yet?
